The world is changing rapidly. The Fourth Industrial Revolution has begun already. The vaccine industry, conceived as the most conservative within the medical industrial sector, is undergoing many technological innovations. Newly emerging infectious diseases urge a paradigm change in the way we develop new vaccines.
At this time of innovations, the Hwasun International Vaccine Forum, which aims to envision the future of the vaccine industry, will open the third chapter of its history starting from the November 15th, 2018. The forum will be held along with the Asian Alliance Conference of the International Society for Vaccines at the Hanium Culture & Sports Center of Hwasun city, the only special vaccine industrial district endorsed by the Korean Government.

The Hwasun International Vaccine Forum (HIVF) was created to forecast the R&D direction and to present the future vision of the vaccine industry. The mankind has kept a proud track record of vaccination; overcoming the challenges posed by distressing infectious diseases such as polio, smallpox, and measles. However, we are still suffering from many newly emerging as well as known infectious diseases.

Recently, we have observed unprecedented wave of infectious diseases across the world such as Ebola, MERS, and Zika infections. However, these new diseases should well be controlled or eradicated, like many diseases of the past, thanks to the new technologies and knowledge coming from the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The HIVF aims to work as a platform for a complete appraisal about those pending challenges from the industrial, R&D, and policy perspectives, so that we can find out the solutions and come up with future visions through open discussions and collaborations. The HIVF is open to anyone interested in vaccines and welcomes your participation with open arms.

In particular, this year’s forum is co-hosted along with the Asian Alliance of the ISV, which has shown the most vibrant activities within the world’s only non-profit vaccine science society. We invite you to the HIVF for an open discussion with the most renowned experts across the world.

Thank you.
